Thanks to everyone who helped with unloading pumpkins on Saturday and volunteered to work a shift (or two!) in the Patch. We are expecting our second load this Wednesday, October 14th. We'll start with "Mass on the Grass" at 5:00 pm and then get to work unloading and placing the pumpkins. When we finish, we'll enjoy hot dogs and Andre's world-famous chili. Thanks also to all those who developed a serving method that allows us to enjoy this tradition while keeping us safe and socially distant. "Oh how good and pleasant it is, when brothers and sisters unload pumpkins and eat hot dogs in unity" - Paraphrase of Psalm 133:1 Please visit the link below to sign-up to volunteer in the Patch. And remember, if every family takes one shift, we'll have plenty of help! Thank you! It's an important distinction. Stewardship is all that we do with all that God has given us. Stewardship keep us aware of God's generosity; it helps us remember God's abundance; and it challenges us to respond with gratitude. When we remember how much God has given us--even and especially in times of seeming scarcity--we are freed to live generous lives. By asking ourselves, "Where have I experienced God's abundant generosity in times of my scarcity?" and "How can I respond with a faithful gratitude and generosity?" we too can be freed from the burdens of ownership to the joys of stewardship. Save the date of All Saints' Day, Sunday, November 1st, for a (virtual) celebration of the many blessings God continues to shower on the St. Augustine's parish family.
