Formation 45 (Sunday School for Kids and Adults) This Sunday, September 27, our "Formation 45" will continue for both children and adults of our parish. Each Sunday from 9:15am to 10am (45 minutes), we will have Children's Sunday School via Zoom, while ages 6th grade through adults will have Christian formation with Father AJ (also via zoom). Eventually, we hope these activities will return to in-person, but for now, we are celebrating the grace that technology allows! If you are ages 6th grade through adult, no pre-registration is necessary. ALL are welcome every Sunday or every once-in-a-while. For our pre-K through 5th grade, we are asking that you pre-register so we know how many packets to purchase. If you have a grandchild that may visit with you a few times during the school year, we would like to encourage you to register them. If you have a child that MIGHT want to participate(we are not asking for a commitment as we know things are currently fluid), please email Catherine.Coats@attnet so she can include them in the count. The Adults (6th grade and up) will be exploring Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs & Practices by Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson Shobe. If you'd like to learn more or revisit who Episcopalians live out and deepen our life of faith, you'll love this conversation! Anyone that is interested in helping would be greatly appreciated.
Our first load of pumpkins arrives on Wednesday, Sept. 30th, at 5:00 pm, and we need help unloading the 18-wheeler. In addition to being St. Augustine's largest fundraiser, the Pumpkin Patch builds bonds of community by bringing us together to work, pray, play and eat--both as church and school. That's what you'll experience at the pumpkin unloading. The event begins with "Mass on the Grass" at 5 pm. Following the Eucharist we unload and place the pumpkins, and then share a meal of hot dogs and chili. We usually finish by 8 pm. Please arrive when you can and leave when you need to--all help is welcomed and appreciated! Like everything else this year, the unloading will look different. We'll need to wear masks and eat our hot dogs "take out" style But the camaraderie and fulfillment that comes from working together (and frankly, sweating together!) to accomplish a shared goal will be the same. I hope to see you in the Patch on Wednesday and all month! Thank you! Please wear "work clothes" and a mask. You might also want to wear gloves and bring a wheel barrow if possible. Also, if you'd like to sign up to work shifts once the Patch opens, please click below. You may also want to save the date for the 2nd unloading: Wednesday, Oct. 14th at 5:00 pm.
