The meeting room will open at 9:00 am and will be the same for all upcoming Sundays. See below for more information on the "Formation 45". Formation 45 (Sunday School) On Sunday, September 13, our "Formation 45" will begin for both children and adults of our parish. Each Sunday from 9:15am to 10am (45 minutes), we will have Children's Sunday School via Zoom, while ages 6th grade through adults will have Christian formation with Father AJ (also via zoom). Eventually, we hope these activities will return to in-person, but for now, we are celebrating the grace that technology allows! If you are ages 6th grade through adult, no pre-registration is necessary. ALL are welcome every Sunday or every once-in-a-while. For our pre-K through 5th grade, we are asking that you pre-register so we know how many packets to purchase. If you have a grandchild that may visit with you a few times during the school year, we would like to encourage you to register them. If you have a child that MIGHT want to participate(we are not asking for a commitment as we know things are currently fluid), please email Catherine so she can include them in the count. Please email by August 27th so we have time for the materials to arrive. Hurricane Laura Immediate Response Thank you, St Augustine's, for your generous response to the request to help the people of Lake Charles! Because of your generosity, a truckload of water, tarps, insect repellent, and cleaning supplies are on their way to my sister-in-law's family and their neighbors. Supplies and donations have continued to come in throughout the afternoon. Those will be delivered on the next trip. Thank you all for this wonderful outpouring of empathy and kindness that will soothe souls as well as sustain their recovery. There's also another way to help. The Sager family has rented an apartment for approximately three months since their rental home in Lake Charles lost its roof and, therefore, most of their belongings and furnishings. Here's a link to a sign up of the things they need: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0C45A5A82FAAFA7-hurricane Office Closed for Labor Day The Church office will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. Here's the Collect for Labor Day (BCP, page 261): Almighty God, you have so linked our lives one with another that all we do affects, for good or ill, all other lives: So guide us in the work we do, that we may do it not for self alone, but for the common good; and, as we seek a proper return for our own labor, make us mindful of the rightful aspirations of other workers, and arouse our concern for those who are out of work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. New on our Website-Preparing for Sunday! Access this Sunday's lectionary readings at your convenience, and then reflect and pray over them at any time.
