God's "Abundant Love in Scarce Times." On Sunday, Nov. 1st, St. Augustine's will broadcast an hour-long Facebook Live telethon to culminate our Annual Giving Campaign and celebrate All Saints' Day. The broadcast will be comprised of live video, pre-recorded segments from "friends" of St. Augustine's, and music videos featuring the people and ministries of our parish. We need your help to enrich these "music videos." Please send in photographs that celebrate both the saints of our congregation (past, present, and future) as well as the events that have brought you and your family joy: Easter Sunday, Christmas Pageant, Pumpkin Palooza, Choir rehearsal, Break Bread Together, Sunday School, etc. Please send submissions no later than Oct 16th to: www.staugustinesmet.com/allsaints And please tune into the St. Augustine's Facebook page on Nov. 1st from 9:15 to 10:15 (and replayed from 11:30 to 12:30) for this celebration of All Saints' Day and important reminder of God's "Abundant Love in Scarce Times." Our Pumpkin Patch is in full swing, and it is a banner year! We are in URGENT need of more volunteers to work shifts in the Patch over the next two weekends when the activity is simply too high for one or two people to handle. This effort belongs to all of us and it is our hope that all who are able will volunteer for one-or more- shifts. If you haven't had the opportunity to volunteer yet, working in the Patch is fun, and sign up is easy! Just go to our website staugustinesmet.com and see the sign up link on the home page. Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Never Underestimate the Power of a Postcard The St. Augustine's PenPal Ministry has been shining the Light of Christ into the homes of the sick, grieving, and separated for a few months now. The PenPal Ministry was developed as a way to connect letter-writers with letter-recipients during this time when so many of us feel disconnected. The exchange of letters and postcards provides both the senders and the recipients with the sense of community, connection, and caring that will always be the St. Augustine's way. Perhaps you would like to join this effort? The commitment to the ministry is any that you are willing to make. Monthly, you will receive an email list of those in our community that we feel might benefit from the outreach effort. You then write letters to who you want, send uplifting messages to who you want, or even have your children color a picture to those you want. Each month, you then let us know who you wrote to so we can fill in gaps to those who have received less communication than others. Right now, we have about 20 people ready to "receive." If you would like to share the Light of Christ in this way, please send your name to: Catherine.Coats@ATT.net
