The truck carrying our pumpkins had two flat tires north of LaPlace which could not be repaired until last night. As of right now, the truck should arrive at St. Augustine's by noon today, Friday, October 1. Unloading will begin at 5:00 pm. SIGN UP TO WORK THE PATCH There are still many gaps in our Pumpkin Patch volunteer sign up sheets. You can sign up from the website. We all need to work together to make this important ministry of our church successful. Thank you! Blessing of the Animals We will celebrate the Feast of St. Francis with the Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 2 at 10:00 am in St. Augustine’s Courtyard. Of course, all animals should be leashed, and please bring appropriate clean up supplies. Bring your fuzzy and winged friends to receive a blessing and a yummy treat. Stewardship Campaign to Begin In the next week or so, you should be receiving information in the mail regarding our Stewardship Campaign. Especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, it is important that we each take time to consider all that we are grateful for in our lives. God has bestowed on each of such an abundance of gifts, that gratitude to God is surely our only response, as Holy Scripture prescribes. You shall speak to the Levites, saying: When you receive from the Israelites the tithe that I have given you from them for your portion, you shall set apart an offering from it to the Lord, a tithe of the tithe. Numbers 18:26 Blessings+ Fr. Brad Shoeboxes for Tela It's time to start collecting items for our partners in mission, Church of the Holy Spirit in Tela, Honduras. We have been sending Christmas shoeboxes filled with goodies for them to distribute for 10 years. Please sign up online at staugustinesmet.com/shoeboxes or call Susan Scotton to shop. Please bring items to the Welcome and Resource Center by November 1st.
