Volunteer at Pumpkin-Palooza
Come Palooza with us! St. Augustine’s Annual Pumpkin-Palooza festival will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Pumpkin-Palooza is a fun, exciting festival that brings together the parish, school, and neighborhood. Invite your friends and neighbors! Admission is free. The festival features kiddie carnival games, activities, prizes, and a pumpkin decorating area for pumpkins purchased during the event. St. Augustine’s Preschool children put on an adorable performance of holiday songs. Adults can enjoy good company and win cakes on the cake walk and door prizes. Hot dogs, homemade chili, popcorn, lemonade, and concessions will be for sale.
Pumpkin-Palooza is a team effort. Please join the team! Here's what you can do...
- Set Up/Decorate Byrd Hall and the Courtyard on Friday, October 18 between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
- Take a shift supervising a game or activity, face painting, selling concessions, welcoming guests at the gate on Saturday, October 19.
- Help break down and clean up after the event (2:30 pm - 3:30 pm) so our campus is ready for Church the next day.
- Bake and donate crazy cakes for the cake walk.
- Donate hot dogs, bottled water, concession stand items, a door prize (perfect re-gifting opportunity because we gift adult & youth items, Halloween & non-Halloween) or Treat Bags for the candy and prizes the children receive.
- Donate trinkets, candy and prizes for the children to receive at each activity station.
There is a Pumpkin-Palooza Volunteer Sign-Up sheet in Byrd Hall.
**If you know any middle or high school students who need service hours, this is a great service opportunity. **
Please email us at [email protected] for more information or to let us know what you can do or call/text Jeanne Roques. The day of Pumpkin-Palooza is crazy. We really need to know ahead of time how many volunteers are coming to help so we can attempt to make a schedule. Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you can Palooza with us!
